1. When the disciples first saw Jesus walking on water, they were troubled, thinking it was a spirit, then were frightful.
2. Peter's response when he bif Jesus to let him walk on the water toward Him indicated that Peter was faithful.
3. According to Matthew 14:30, peter began to sink due to a sudden lack of faith; he was afraid.
4. When Peter began to sink, he cried to Jesus to save Him. The word in these verses that describe the Savior's timing of His stretched forth hand is "immediately."
5. D&C 88:67 illustrates the principle of having an eye single to the Lord and when that happens one is filled with light. It relates to paul walking on water, because he had an eye single to the Lord and had faith in him. It was when he doubted that the wholeness of light left him. I can relate this to my lifeand my own trials by focusing on Christ, knowing that He can carry me through my storms as long as i have faith in Him.
